Working with the Town of Winchester and the Cemetery Advisory Committee, Jerry Brown oversaw the development of a Master Plan Report for the expansion of Wildwood Cemetery. The expansion area’s topography is a continuation of the existing cemetery’s rolling hillside. Therefore, the challenge in expanding the Cemetery was to design new areas in harmony with the existing historic site, and to create the feeling of one cohesive cemetery.

To meet that challenge, as well as the needs of the Town, we evaluated the existing site conditions, and developed schematic designs and plans evaluating alternative layouts and densities of roadways and access points. Plans were reviewed with the Town and Cemetery Advisory Committee to refine the program elements and the layout. The final plan identified facilities, vegetation, access points, location of burial lots with respect to existing site conditions, and the locations of existing roads. A phasing plan was also developed to guide the project’s schedule and budget.
