G. Brown Design, in association with Carol R. Johnson Associates, developed a schematic design for the recreation facility and clubhouse at the JPI Ashland Residential Community. The primary goal was to create separate community gathering places for active play and quiet contemplation. To achieve this end, the meditation garden was separated from the swimming pool deck by a landscape buffer. The pool house also serves as a gate house marking the entrance to the recreation area. A mixed border of trees and shrubs screens the pool and meditation garden from the nearby open playfield.
