G. Brown Design, Inc. brought extensive knowledge and experience in institutional site design and development to the design team selected by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to design the Rexburg Idaho Temple located on a relatively steep 9.3-acre site above the Brigham Young University of Idaho campus.
GBD was responsible for coordinating with the project architect as well as the LDS church architectural department in developing initial site design alternatives. GBD worked with the project architect to locate the Temple on the site in a manner compatible with its use, the existing topography, and the circulation requirements of the Temple patrons.
Following schematic design approval, GBD was responsible for transforming the approved site plan design into construction drawings, details, and specifications that were then sent to bid and be constructed by the contractor while still meeting the tight budget constraints set by the owner.
